just a quickie

cant remember what iv said yet, but i got into my uni!!! first choice!!! but that was a little while ago, i think i was saving it for a blog post when i didnt have much else to say but then i forgot so, there it is, i passed, got into my uni and am going to live in london, the only problem is that im not living on the campus that i wanted to be on, this means im on the other campus which is four tube stops and a shuttle bus ride away from the uni! but on the plus side i am getting a much larger student loan than i was first told i would get, which is good even if i do have to pay it back at some point, oh well, id rather have a debt than starve, itll be hard though, the ultimate yarn diet, a choice between food and yarn hhhhmmmmmmm???? which will it be????

anyhow, in knitting news, i do have a little to blog.
the rainbow socks are finished and i love them, and now im doing seaside socks xoxo

just chillin, sitting, knitting.

i have to work later, but until then its relaxing summer time. i thought that, in the spirit of regular blog posts i would give ya a little update. here are some socks iv made since i last saw you...

on the left we have a pattern described as basic, it was not basic, theyr were all these decreases around the leg and it is one hell of a pain in the arse. in the future i shall reserve this pattern for mens socks, only, ever. obviously the yarn is a multi blend but i cannot for the life of me remember what it is, anyway i got it from knit and yarn. over my toes you can see my gawjus little laptop, aint it pretty. on the left we have a regia self striping yarn in a pair of socks that i totally fudged. look at the heel of my left foot! i look deformed! well im not, it may be the position my foot was in, however i got bored with these socks and did the toe to early thinkin it would be ok, well it wasnt, theyr too short. but i knit them, so im wearin them. after the rainbow socks i think i might take a little break and do a dishcloth, iv got some cotton somewere and its only enough for that, itll be nice to knit on 2 straight needles for a while. love ya xoxo

huge massive update

ok so this is the huge massive update. i've been meaning to do an update for a while now and things kept getting in the way.
this is a little bit of yarn to tide you over whilst i begin my long slog through the months. its actually what i'm knitting with now, its making some gorgeous socks from lorna's laces and its called Rainbow, unfortunately whilst in the skein its looks gawjus, it looks disgusting when wound into a ball, rather like someone has eaten a mound of skittles and then thrown up on my yarn. However i think it looks gorgeous knit up (though not to everyones taste). its making a very plain sock pattern but i love it and i think sock knitting, if its plain is a perfect little project thats the perfect FO and lovely to take around with me because it fits in my bag yay.

ok so, i got my a,level results this thursday just been, (i know this is not chronological but its in order of what is the most important to me) and i was so nervous, i needed 3 D's and an E to get onto the creative and media writing with journalism course i want to do at middlesex university. I think it was particularly scary for me as i failed my first AS year and if i didnt pass this year i would have to give up on going to uni as i wouldnt be allowed to do another year at sixth form. but as you can probably tell by the way im talking, i passed!!! last year in my AS i got 3 E's and a D and i left sir john leman high sixth form with 3D's and a C. now whilst people may look at this and think well at least ya passed, i am ecstatic :) i have never been that good at grades, i love to write and i know that even though i worked this year, the first year i should've stopped writing stories and daydreaming and spent some time to WORK. but i dont care, i passed, i passed, i passed and im going to uni and its because i worked and yay.

Birthday pressies!!!! i was 19 on the 20th of june and i got some rockin pressies. the first was my ball winder which produces (as lickety knit once said) "yarn cakes". i literally wound every ball and skein into new balls on this little baby and i loved it. however, winding the skeins, which used to tangle over my leg or on the back of the chair, has become crazily easy with the use of...

MY SWIFT!!! chris has described it as a little wool washing line! i
love love love it. it spins so as i turn the little handle on my ball winder it just comes straight of the swift and right onto the ball winder. and of course makes the pretty yarn cakes.

of course i got other yarn- related presents however, im not going to take pictures of them all because it would get a little dull and i honestly do not want to take pictures of everything.

so, i got, "knitting vintage socks" by nancy bush, the domiknitrix book, 3 skeins of sock yarn. however, the internet shop my mum bought the three skeins of sock yarn from never delivered, and they didnt charge her either so i dont know what happened. so she let me pick my own sock yarn. the first one i chose was the first picture in the blog, the second is called seaside by lorna's lace's.

the third was called twilight and i think its by claudia's yarns but im not sure.
and i think its absolutely gorgeous. i think i'm going to make socks for grandma out of the seaside yarn, mainly because iv already given my nanny a pair and my long knitting grandma hasnt had any hand knits from me. i cant giv my grandma a present without giving my grandad one, and i also want to make a pair for my uncle. my uncle is a total legend, any computer worries i have i just call him, he takes remote control of my computer and walla, its fixed. he is the only reason i have the ability to blog. he made a mention to me about how he liked thick knitted socks, so bearing in mind i can find some good yarn, i think we all know what he's getting for christmas.
in other news, i think i may be going to a knit and natter this week. i dont know exactly when im leaving for uni but even if it is next monday i can still make it. i used to go to this lovely knit group in bungay and the most gorgeous shop, knit and yarn. however it was a little bit of a way to go and i could only go if i didnt have lessons on friday afternoon. but beccles (my home town) has a place called the craft workshop ( or some such thing) i dont know what exactly goes on in there because its not a shop and iv always been to scared to go in and find out. i was driving past yesterday when i saw a sign in the window for a knit and natter on wednesday and saturday 7.30 to 9.30 so if its actually in beccles then i am definately be there.
anyway, im doing nothing much as its the first bit of holiday iv had when im not working or panicking about my results. so im going to try and get near to finishing my rainbow sock. iv set myself up on the couch, star trek voyager is on virgin and x-files is on next, iv got my flash new laptop, which i shall post about next, and my knitting, today will be a good day.
love ya

i’m a lousy person

im historically bad with keeping up with anything. From knitting projects (which prove too adventurous or because a better looking project waltzes past me with a come hither look) to reading all the way through a book.
Therefore i will now make an effort to keep this blog up to date.
My knitting has been substantial over the last half a year. most of my knitted accomplishments have been given away as gifts so i have no pictures however i shall dig up the few things i kept for myself and photo them and post them in due course.
Ido have a few excuses for my poor blogging history, these include bad internet connections, going through my second year of A- levels (i get my results tommorow) and lots of other little things that trail of in unintelligible mumbling noises due to them actually being a product of my laziness. my apologies for being crap, photos nd lots of knit talk to come. xoxo
