say eff off to fairisle.

ok tried the wool, am very very happy bunny, feel very sori for thinking lovely yarn lady could tell untruths about fairisle wool, it is gorgeous and i love it, i want to mate it with some cute regia sock yarn iv got and live in a house made of it. i was worried at first thoughstripes!!! i was very moody, is anyone else seeing stripes??? i thought, stripes is not what i payed for so why is stripes what im getting??? i could have done stripes without buying the flash wool however, this did not deter me, i kept on going and im sooo glad

.. little spots started to come out. yay, i love them, im now down to the heel and having so much fun, this may be my first real sock success!!!

have decided that if these socks work i will do some more, i have lots of sock yarn left to go. this is just some of it, have not decided which i like best, and, if i make these, who will be the recipient, so far mum and nanny both still have no pressies done. they are first on my list, but i reckon the scarf i am not so proud of that was supposed to go to my grandma will go well with a pair of lilac socks.

ill sock it to ya

ok hav taken rest from knit rabbit, i hate sewing up, its a nightmare, all my perfectly knit pieces just look like rags. i am not a happy bunny (no pun intended) in desperation to take my mind off the annoyingly strange looking bunny have decided to do socks. im not good at socks, iv onli ever knit one and a half pairs, the first were hideously misshapen and too small, the second were meant to be for my mother and when i realised that somewere in the intricate lace pattern i had indeed "lost" a stitch i gave up, knowing that i wouldnt be able to get the socks just right without unravelling all the way back to the heel (i was nearly at the toe) i have resigned them to the back of my wardrobe were it is likely they will forever stay.

Here is the amazing new yarn i bought from the wool shop (1st pic) it is supposed to be fairisle!!! it actually knits up into a pattern!!!! not just stripes but a whole pattern!!! am thinking is fake, maybe lady in wool shop was desperate to get rid of me so sent me off with evil wool to give punishment for extensive yarn browsing. will try the wool and see

attack of the killer (almost there) bunny

ok so im sharing with you the first project since i opened this blog, its depressing.
this is supposed to be a bnny rabbit. my sixthform class is putting together hampers for kids who wont have a fab christmas. they know i knit so i got put onto this.
though to be honest its not that i dont mind makng it, it just looks so unbunnylike. i will upoad another pic when its finished and see if it looks any less weird lol.
Anyhow, im now cuddled up in chris' room watchin mamma mia yay lol but i think i deserve this lazy moment because iv been out in beccles this evening and got soaked. i must have looked a right shady lady, i walked round in the drizzle with a man hoodie and combats on. i didnt enjoy it at all but the shops were open late and i had the plan of going to the wool shop and getting some new dpns for the handwarmers im going to make but it was closed!!! i was in shock, anyway my brain kicked into gear (for once) and, desperate to not look like a loner standing outside the wool shop with no were to go i went to the british legion charity shop and WALLA there was the huge pot of knitting needles. as wonderful as they were, only 50p a pair, i will never forgive those british legion ladies for dividing the dpns into pairs, i managed to finaly find a set of five matching and the woman didnt want to sell them to me!! i eventually had to dig around in my bag for a pattern i had for socks just to show her that "yes, you can knit on more than two needles".
I missed them turn the christmas lights on. well technically i didnt, i actually saw the lights go on i just didnt see the supposedly famous person press the switch, and no offence to the lovely people who sort it or the person who actually flicks the switch but, the last two years they have had some minor character from doctor who, i LOVE doctor who, however, until they get david tennant up on that little stage i cannot guarantee my attendance. lol see ya.xxx

i just had to do another one. i couldnt bear to leave that poor first blog all by itself.
I thought it was porbably a gd idea to start talking about knitting. this year i have backed myself into a corner telling everyone i am knitting all my christmas pressies :[ am worried, so far have made hat which is slightly to small at top for my brother and a scarf for my grandma, lots of things to come but i have foolishly taken a break from the socks im making for my mum to make a bunny rabbit teddy for the christmas hampers we are making for underprivileged children at sixth form. taking ages, i got the pattern from a little book of old rowan toy patterns it cost £4.25!!!! IN SHOCK! but nearly finished yay.

first of many

OMG

little bit worried but have feeling will be OK. anyway, i have been inspired by stephanie Pearl Mcphee aka the yarn harlot and (not copying) have decided that instead of dreaming about having my own blog im gonna get down to it.
So, for those of you who dont know what that means, i am all about knitting! I love to knit, iv been doing it since i was propably about 7 (Im now 18) and have decided that now i have stepped out of the shadows with my sticks im gona have a go at surfing with them too.
